What is ReReadz?

ReReadz is the UK's community-led marketplace built exclusively for pre-loved books. Whether you are clearing your shelves, hunting for a rare paperback, building a children's library on a budget, or supporting your local hospice charity shop, ReReadz connects buyers and sellers directly. There is no middleman buyback, no warehouse markup, and no listing fees. Sellers set their own prices and keep the majority of every sale, while buyers discover thousands of titles for a fraction of the high-street cost.

We launched ReReadz because the way Britain trades second-hand books was broken. Buyback sites pay pennies. Generic marketplaces drown books in unrelated clutter. Charity shops do incredible work but rarely reach readers online. ReReadz puts everyone on the same shelf: independent sellers, charity shops, lifelong readers, and first-time sellers who just want to give their old favourites a second life.

How buying works

  1. Discover. Search by title, author, ISBN, or browse curated genres including Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children's, Cookbooks, Romance, Crime & Thriller, Fantasy, History, Biographies and more.
  2. Compare. Each listing shows the cover, condition, seller rating, and a smart price suggestion so you know you are getting a fair deal.
  3. Bundle to save. Buying multiple books from the same seller? Bundle them in one order and pay a single flat shipping fee.
  4. Pay securely. Checkout is powered by Stripe. Funds are held in escrow until your books arrive in the condition described.
  5. Receive and review. Sellers dispatch within 48 hours. Once your order arrives, you confirm delivery and leave a review so the community knows who to trust.

Every order is covered by Readers Shield, our buyer-protection programme. If your book never arrives or is misrepresented, we refund you in full.

How selling works

  1. Scan or search. Use your phone camera to scan a barcode or type the ISBN. We auto-fill the title, author, cover and category in seconds.
  2. Set the condition and price. We suggest a fair price based on real market data so you never under- or over-charge.
  3. List for free. Listing is always free. There are no monthly subscriptions and no per-item fees.
  4. Ship. When a buyer pays, we email you a packing slip. Drop the parcel at your nearest Post Office or arrange a collection.
  5. Get paid. Funds land in your ReReadz wallet after delivery is confirmed. Withdraw to your bank in one click via Stripe Connect.

Our flat 7.5% Readers Shield fee covers payment processing, buyer protection, dispute resolution and platform costs. Shipping is a flat £2.99 for one to four books, or £5.99 for five or more.

Yes. Listing is always free. We only earn when a book sells, through a flat 7.5% Readers Shield fee taken from the sale.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is a flat rate, not weight-based. £2.99 covers one to four books and £5.99 covers five or more from the same seller. Buyers always know the total upfront.

What if my book never arrives?

Every order is covered by Readers Shield buyer protection. If a book does not arrive or is significantly different from the listing, we refund you in full from the escrowed payment.

Can charity shops sell on ReReadz?

Yes. We work with verified UK charity shops and hospices. Apply via our charity signup page and our team will help you onboard.

How do sellers get paid?

Payouts run through Stripe Connect. Once a buyer confirms delivery, funds land in your ReReadz wallet and can be withdrawn to your bank in one click.

Yes. ReReadz currently operates within the United Kingdom. We are focused on building the best book community in Britain before expanding.
